2010 CDS San Diego Chapter Circuit Information

The 2010 show season is underway. The 2010 competition season runs from October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010.

The circuit accumulates the class standings earned by each participating CDS Amateur, Junior/Young Rider, and Open rider throughout the show season. A rider with a score of 55% or greater earns 5 points for finishing in first place, 3 points for finishing in 2nd place, 2 points for finishing in 3rd place, and 1 point for finishing in 4th place. At the Awards Party, held in the first part of the following calendar year, awards are given to 1st through 3rd place at each level, Training through FEI. FEI encompasses Prix St. Georges through Grand Prix. At this time, there are no awards given for Freestyles, Performance, or In-Hand classes. Prizes are awarded separately for Jr/YR, Adult Amateurs and Open riders.

In order to claim their award RIDERS MUST HAVE COMPLETED THEIR MANDATORY VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT whether or not they are members of the San Diego Chapter.

At each show, a $3 fee for each horse and rider combination is collected. Each horse and rider combination is charged only once per show, regardless of the number of classes in which that combination competes. Riders competing on more than one horse, however, are charged separately for each horse on which they are competing.

Because of WEG, CDS San Diego will not be offering a September Show in 2010. The confirmed shows, as of 5/19/10, are Creek Hollow Ranch Dressage Series (excluding schooling shows), KP Events' Dressage Affaire CDI, Legacy Farms' Dressage Show Series and Temecula Valley CDS. Shows that have agreed to participate will be listed on the CDS-San Diego calendar as soon as they are confirmed.

Riders must score 55% or better to earn points.

Riders must volunteer at least 4 hours or equivalent at a CDS-SD chapter event during the year to be eligible for year end awards. Volunteer opportunities include the three CDS San Diego Chapter shows (June, August and September), the Awards Party, the Adult Amateur clinic and other Chapter-sponsored events held through-out the year. Our web-site and/or our new blog is the best way to stay on top of the opportunities to fulfill your volunteer obligation and help out your chapter and the dressage community at large. Volunteers may have surrogates as long as the arrangement is coordinated through the Volunteer Coordinator.
