Karla was born into a family with the passion of horses running through their blood…literally running. Her father’s family includes Thoroughbred breeders and trainers in the racing industry out of Bend, Oregon. Although she loved horses from birth, it wasn’t until her 10th birthday that she started riding when she received her birthday gift, Buckshot. He was a fantastic pinto pony that took her from Western Equitation and Pleasure, gymkhana to hunter/jumpers and horse trials.
Karla has been focusing on dressage for the past 5 years, but is looking to return to her favorite equestrian sport, Three Day Eventing, in 2006.
Professionally, Karla works in the software development industry. She is attending Mira Costa College to complete her degree, in addition to obtaining her Real Estate Salesperson license to begin yet another career.
Karla returns to the board this year after a brief absence to serve as Show Manager. With her prior experience as Show Secretary, she is prepared to work closely with Show Secretary Patty Littmann to see that CDS San Diego Chapter Shows continue to provide the same top quality show experience that competitors have come to expect.
