Dressage Show to Benefit New Lakeside Venue

The nostalgia of dressage schooling shows of years' past at Sweetwater Farms, Pillsbury, and Willow Glen echo in the air as the possibility of a new facility in East County at Lakeside Equestrian Park calls us into the future. The East County Equestrian Foundation (ECEF), a 501c3 non-profit, is working with the County of San Diego to promote the future Lakeside Equestrian Park which will be built on the 14-acre parcel at the corner of Willow and Moreno in Lakeside. ECEF is raising funds to benefit the park, which is expected to break ground late this year or early 2019. The facility will host events for all equestrian disciplines, including dressage, and feature a beautiful covered arena as the showpiece of the property.

To assist with the funding of this major project, the East County Equestrian Foundation has put together a few fundraisers at Sweetwater Farms in Bonita in the coming months including a Benefit Dressage Clinic with Elizabeth Johnson on Sept. 9, 2018 and a Benefit Dressage Schooling show at Sweetwater Farms in Bonita on Oct. 14, 2018.

Elizabeth Johnson Benefit Clinic

Rides will be $100 ~ Auditing $20 with 100% of the proceeds going to ECEF. Find the flyer with more information here.

Sweetwater Benefit Show

October 14

The support of the dressage community for this project is apparent as Elizabeth Johnson is donating her clinician time, Roberta Jackson is donating the Sweetwater venue, and Tiffany Silverman is donating her judging time..

The East County Equestrian Foundation has been in existence since 2012. ECEF has been working with San Diego Parks and Recreation with the design of the facility and now is in fundraising mode to go towards operations / maintenance of the park. With a goal of $150,000, over $66,000 has already been raised by many events promoting many disciplines including Mounted Shooting, Reining, Dressage, Trail Obstacle events and other fun horse related fundraisers.

Upcoming events, show entry forms, and past newsletters can be found on the Lakeside Equestrian Park website.
